ITINERARY

Spend a full day soaking up the sights of Rio de Janeiro during a city tour. Begin with a train ride to see the Christ the Redeemer Statue atop Corcovado Mountain, followed by a panoramic (external) visit to the Maracanã stadium and additional stops at the Sambódromo (Sambadrome), the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Selarón Steps. After lunch at a steakhouse, ride the cable cars up Sugarloaf Mountain.

Get picked up from your hotel in Rio and drive up to the Cosme Velho station in order to catch the Corcovado Train. The train ride through tropical forest takes about 20 minutes from ground level the top of Corcovado Mountain, where you will reach the Christ the Redeemer Statue - one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Once you're back at sea level, drive past the legendary Maracanã soccer stadium (external visit) and head to Sambódromo, the location of Rio's exciting Carnaval. Pay a visit to the distinctive Metropolitan Cathedral, a modern structure that takes influence from Mayan pyramids. Check out the brightly colored tiles of the world-famous Selarón Steps, one of Rio's most distinctive landmarks. Then head to a local steakhouse to sit down to a delicious barbecue lunch.

After lunch, make a final trip to Sugarloaf Mountain, located in the Urca neighborhood. Ride a series of 2 cable cars en route to the summit, first arriving at Urca Hill, and then continuing to the top of Sugarloaf, reaching a height of 1,295 feet (395 m). ITINERARY

Walk along Rio’s Downtown area to learn more about Brazil’s history and the city’s post-olympic legacy. Begin your tour being pickup from your hotel to discover the many hidden gems in Rio’s Downtown area with a tour guide. Start at the Valongo Wharf - the latest Unesco World Heritage site in the city – and learn more about the African influence in Brazil.

Then head to the Kobra Mural – one of the largest graffiti walls in the world – created by the Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra, to admire the five ethnic groups portrayed in a colorful geometric background. After a few pictures, you will walk along the Olympic Boulevard towards the Museum of Tomorrow – a modern and technological science museum dedicated to explore and question all the possibilities for constructing the future of the planet and of mankind – and its remarkable architecture. You will enter the Museum of Tomorrow and visit one of the most visited museums in Brazil!

After exploring the future, travel to the past in the Monastery of Saint Benedict, where you will experience the contrast of the simple façade with the interior covered with the golden ornaments, a heritage from the Baroque period.

Before heading towards the historical streets of Rio, you will see Rio 2016 Olympic Cauldron created by the American artist Anthony Howe. You will notice the reflective-kinetic-sphered-structure as a reminder of the Games.

At the Praça XV, you will see one of the former headquarters of the Brazilian empire and learn more about important facts of Brazilian history that happened in the area.

Your last stop will be at Confeitaria Colombo (closed on Sundays), a permanent member of all “must-see cafés” rankings around the world. Enjoy the opulent art nouveau decorated with huge stained glass, tiles, and mirrors imported from France, Portugal, and Belgium. DESCRIPTION

Experience the creation of Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival from an insider’s perspective: visit the City of Samba, enter the Grande Rio’s Samba Factory, learn about the history of Samba and Carnival parades, understand the production of floats and costumes, and feel the samba fever with an authentic carnival costume, a samba class, and a Brazilian welcome drink!

You will enter the City of Samba, a specially designed warehouse complex used by the most important samba schools in Rio de Janeiro to build and house the elaborate floats and costumes.

Then go inside the Samba Factory of Grande Rio and be greeted by a tour guide to see the secrets that are revealed only during the Carnival parade: the production of floats and costumes. You will understand the concepts and work involved during the creation process.

Enter the colorful exhibition room and learn about the history of Samba and Carnival parades with images and videos.

Get into the Carnival mood and choose one of the many authentic Carnival costumes available to dress and photograph. Learn the basic Samba steps with an expert and end your tour tasting the “Samba flavour” with the typical Brazilian cocktail, the caipirinha. Your samba fever will be complete!

The Rio de Janeiro Carnival is one of the major events of the city, attracting people from all areas in Brazil and around the world to experience this passion. ITINERARY

Stop at the Ilhas Botinas, two small islands surrounded by calm and translucent waters, to snorkel (available for rental) and observe marine life. Then, visit Praia do Dentista. a tropical beach with thin white sand and intense water colors that vary according to the sky - one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. Explore the island with a 10-minute hike (optional) through steep areas to reach the pier.

Navigate around Ilha da Gipóia to stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant at Praia do Vitorino. On your way back, visit Capela do Senhor do Bonfim, a historical chapel built around 1780.

Finally, return to Cais de Santa Luzia port to drive back to Rio de Janeiro.

ITINERARIO

Haga su primera parada en las Islas Botinas, dos islas pequeñas rodeadas por águas tranquilas y translúcidas, para bucear (máscaras disponibles para alquiler) y observar la vida marina. A continuación, visita la Playa del Dentista, una playa tropical de arena blanca y fina y aguas de colores intensos que varían según el cielo - una de las más bellas playas de la región. Explore la isla con un sendero de 10 minutos (opcional) por caminos empinados para llegar al muelle.   

Contorne la Isla de Gipóia para una pausa para un delicioso almuerzo en un restaurante local en la Playa de Vitorino. A la vuelta, visite la Capilla del Señor del Bonfim, una estructura histórica construida alrededor de 1780.

Por último, regrese al muelle de Santa Luzia para el viaje a Rio de Janeiro.

ITINERARY

Make your first stop on Ilha de Cataguás, its calm blue waters are a perfect invitation for a swim. Then, head to Ilha Grande and discover the Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon), check out the collection of starfish at the bottom of the ocean, as well as colorful fish and corals in this natural pool perfect for snorkeling and swim with floating “noodles”. Visit the Freguesia de Santana, a small beach that houses the first church of Angra dos Reis, built in 1843. 

Visit Praia do Japariz, have lunch at a local restaurant and enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea.

Disembark at the pier and return comfortably to Rio de Janeiro.
